My name is Katharine Reuter, sometimes spelled Catherine or Katherine by mistake but that's ok I'm used to it!  I have always dreamed of competing on a Division 1 NCEA Equestrian Team and excited to be joining the team at University of Georgia in the fall of 2025. After college my goal is to become a professional.

 

As a working student for my trainer, Beverly Jovais, I have had the opportunity to ride many different horses and ponies. From barely broke young horses to seasoned equitation horses I have learned how to adapt my riding to each horses needs on that particular day.

In addition to riding, I help with barn chores such as making grain, organizing around the barn, packing for shows, and helping the grooms at the shows. I partner very closely with our vet and farrier to ensure they know how each horse is feeling and highlight any concerns I have about their health or soundness.

One of my favorite jobs around the barn is to help the  younger kids tack up and untack their ponies and assist during their lessons. I get great pride in watching them progress in their riding.

 In 2023, my goals are to continue to develop my 7 year old horse Federer, to show in the Gladstone Cup, USET Talent Search Finals, Maclay Regionals, CPHA Jr Hunt Seat Finals, and show in USHJA International Derbies.  I will also be catch riding in the hunters and equitation and plan to get experience in the jumper ring.

I am someone who always has a smile on my face and I value the fun in riding and caring for my horse. I enjoy cheering on my barn mates and watching them succeed.
